June 11, 2010
Illmatic was arguably one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. West Coast rising star, Fashawn, decided to pay homage to Nas and his greatest work, Illmatic. XXL, Orisue and Dj Green Lantern all come together to bring a new mixtape/album from Fashawn in which he recreates Nas’ Illmatic with updated lyrics, but keeping the original beats. Talib Kweli has a featuring spot in redoing AZ’s verse on “Life’s A Bitch.” The tape is a really creative idea and it works very well. If you haven’t gotten up yet on Fashawn, then I would suggest downloading this tape and you may understand what the buzz is all about. Single: Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg “Flashing”
May 25, 2010
Is this a leak off of Detox? Who knows. It’s definitely a very very unfinished version of a new Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg track. According to Scott Storch, Detox is just a few songs from being done. Either way, check it out. Spotted at Whoo Kid’s. Get Right…
