I just recently got put on to Major Lazer and was a fan right away. Major Lazer is a fictional character created by producers Diplo and Switch. I’ll post the official description of Lazer below. It’s too much to describe. Anyway, clothing company Mishka just put out a Major Lazer shirt and in promotion for it also dropped this tape featuring one long MP3 of electro-reggae-dancehall, if that makes sense. Rock City, by way of the US Virgin Islands: St. Thomas, release their mixtape in promotion for their upcoming album. Apparently St. Thomas is known as Rock City and that is where these 2 brothers got their name from. After building up a name for themselves they began to start writing for major artists like Busta Rhymes, Nicole Scherzinger, Eve, Usher and Akon. The new mixtape highlights their talent with them rhyming over various instrumentals. I have never really heard too much from them, but the mixtape is pretty good and a great showcase of their talent.
