Mick Boogie and Terry Urban had an extremely good year in 2008. Combined, they released some of the best mixtapes ever, not just in 2008. They decided to close out the year with this nice little mix featuring some of the greatest tracks from ‘08. A nice mix and, of course, it’s put together well and is the high audio quality you have come to expect from Mick. Featuring songs from The Dream, Jay-Z, Kanye, Q-Tip, Lil Wayne, KiD CuDi and many more. Of course Mick can’t just put out a “compilation” mixtape, he needs to be unique and creative. Dj OSK – Delox

Dj OSK presents a new blend mixtape that has a fresh touch to it. In anticipation for Dr. Dre’s upcoming album Detox, Dj OSK decided to put some of the lyrics from The Lox on top of some of the beats from the good doctor. The mixtape is dope and the blends are done very well. Too bad a whole Lox / Dre album is purely a fantasy. Anyway, this is a close as it’ll get. Nice work OSK. Mick Boogie jumps right into a brand new mash up mixtape following his criticaly acclaimed “Viva La Hova.” On this latest one, similar to ‘Viva La Hova” Mick Boogie reaches out to some of the best up and coming producers and rhyme sayers to help in the project. This one remixes Adele’s “19″ album and backs it with a reinterpretation of beats from the 80’s decade of hip hop. Adele has been nominated for 4 Grammy’s by the way. Check it out. A nice mix here. Cookin Soul & Dj Whoo Kid – Night of the Living Dead (Notorious B.I.G.)

Cookin’ Soul drops a great tape here with the help of Dj Whoo Kid and the late great Biggie Smalls. Cookin’ Soul provides the halloween themed demonic, dark, thriller esque beats and backdrops. Biggie’s verses are placed on top as well as some featuring verses from 50 Cent, Nas, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Snoop & Jay-Z. The mixtape s done extremely well. I’d like to get a dj free version, but Whoo Kid doesn’t really ruin it, he kept his drops to a minimum and the volume low.
