New York & Los Angeles Do Not Set The Trends For Hip Hop Music
The University College Dublin recently crunched some numbers and came to a realization that New York City and Los Angeles are not industry leaders when it comes to setting music trends. The report led by computer scientist, Conrad Lee, gathered statistics from Last.FM for the study. All genres of music were analyzed, but the fact that we found interesting was regarding hip hop. Atlanta, Toronto and Chicago were the top 3 cities for setting trends in music today. Toronto was a surprise to me, but I guess Drake really put on for his city.
