The Game is getting ready for his upcoming album “The R.E.D Album,” which is co-executive produced by Dr. Dre and Pharrell Williams. For the initial promotion of the album Game linked up with Dj Skee for the new mixtape featuring a bunch of tracks and some freestyles. Everyone knew that Premier would be making his own “tribute” mix for Guru. The Mister Cee mix was good, but this one is preferred by me for sure. Premier says this is a “salute” to Guru, and that most of the records on the mix are from Guru’s “rebellious” phase. There is a little bit of talking going on, but it’s good to hear about Guru from Dj Premier who has known Guru for a long time, and has a lot of great stories to tell. A great mix. R.I.P. Guru. Mister Cee – “Guru Tribute Mix”

Guru, 1/2 of the legendary hip hop group Gangstarr (along with Dj Premier), passed away over the night from a long battle with cancer. Guru was a pioneer in the industry and pushed limits of creativity especially with his “Jazzmatazz” projects which fused hip hop and jazz. I basically grew up on Gangstarr and to hear of his passing was definitely a sad moment. Luckily, we still have his music and always will. Today Mister Cee did a tribute Guru mix on Hot 97.
