Jack Splash – Heir To The Throne Vol.1
November 13, 2009
Currently as I am writing this post I’m listening to Jack Splash for the first time. I have never heard of him, so props to TSS and DJ Skee for presenting the tape. Jack Splash has true talent and currently is signed to J Records and working on his studio album slated for a 2010 release. Getting his start as a producer who has had a hand in many hits, now Splash is getting into the spotlight, and deservedly should. The production alone is dope. This is a must download in my opinion and may even make our top ten list for 2009… Here’s what TSS said about the project.
Along with DJ Skee, we’re proud to bring to you Jack Splash’s Heir To The Throne Vol. 1. On the surface, the mixtape is a motion picture in audio form, inspired by scenes seen after living in both L.A and Miami. It’s energetic, eclectic rhymes spiced with doses of rap, funk and traces of techno.
At first listen, Jack Splash’s lyrics are glitzy & inspired by living the life. But with an open ear, the differences between the mixtape and Jack’s previous work with Plantlife are apparent. Before the glamor there was the grind, evidenced on “Baatin.†There was the study of musical styles that you hear in the words & sounds used for “Charlie Wilson†& “Rick James.†If you listen closely, you’ll hear the words and sounds from the guy who had a hand in finding Keys and crafting a Legend. The guy who shaped the sounds of Missy and Jamie. The guy who influenced anybody famous enough to go by one name.
Now, after manning the boards and creating for so many others, it’s time to meet Jack. Watch for the forthcoming album Technology and Love Might Save Us All… coming spring 2010 on J Records. For now, enjoy Heir To The Throne Vol. 1.
