Jadakiss & Styles P – Am I My Brothers Keeper?

September 30, 2009

New mixtape from Styles P and Jadakiss. The tape isn’t an official official tape, but it is a dope dj free compilation featuring new music from two thirds of the D-Block trio. Sheek is featured on a few of the tracks, but it’s mainly Styles and Jada. Most of the tracks are just short verses here and there, unfinished tracks or new freestyles. Dj Drama & French Montana – Cocaine Konvicts

September 29, 2009

Lots of people have been requesting this tape over the weekend. It came out a few days ago, but I sort of let it slip through the posts. Anyway, ask and you shall receive. New music from French Montana hosted by Dj Drama. An official Gangsta Grillz mixtape. This is Montana’s first tape while being signed to Akon’s Konvict record label. Whether or not that was a good business move on Akon’s part…still to be decided. The tape has a few features from notable artists like Akon, Young Chris & Beanie Sigel. The audio quality isn’t the best in my opinion, but if you want to hear some of the new material from Montana, then check out the tape. Always a free mixtape download over here. Re-Up: J.Cole – The Come Up (2008)

September 28, 2009

Slow day in mixtapes, so I decided to re-post J.Cole’s 2008 introductory mixtape hosted by Dj On Point “The Come Up.” If you don’t know, J.Cole is on Jay-z’s Roc Nation label and was also recently added to Jay-z’s College Tour.  J.Cole also had a great verse on BP3’s “A Star Is Born.” He also released his follow-up mixtape “The Warm Up” in June of this year. If you haven’t downloaded that mixtape yet, I suggest you do. It is definitely one of the best tapes of 2009. Download “The Warm Up” here. This mixtape was released a year before that one and is also a great download and a must if you want to build your J.Cole library. J.Cole gets the stamp of approval from GetRightMusic.com and I’m sure we will be hearing a lot more from this young artist in the future. Always a free mixtape download over here. 9th Wonder & Don Cannon: Tom Hardy – The Curse Of The Green Faceded

September 27, 2009

Is there room in hip hop for anther white rapper? Tom Hardy thinks so, so does Don Cannon and producer 9th Wonder. Cannon broke Asher Roth with his first mixtape and it looks like he’s doing the same with Hardy. I’m still up in the air about Hardy, but the tape is entirely produced by 9th Wonder, which is dope. Hardy sort of reminds me of a Bubba Sparxxx type with the southern flow. Check him out and let me know what you all think. The tape also has guest spots from Freeway, Young Chris, Mickey Halsted, Murs & Harlem’s Cash. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape downloads. Beatnick & K-Salaam – Never Can Say Goodbye

September 24, 2009

Beatnick & K-Salaam return after their highly successful mixtape “Where The Streets Have No Name” with a remix album showcasing some of the greatest legends in music. Remixes of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye tracks. Now, they released 2 versions of this tape, the regular remix album with the vocals and then the instrumental version. The instrumental version is what really grabbed my attention. Beatnick & K-Salaam are extremely talented producers and the instrumentals highlight that to a t. So if I was you, I would be downloading the instrumental version without a doubt and just vibing out to it or even getting creative with it. But, take a listen to both versions and decide for yourself. You can even download both if you please. The instrumental version does cost $6, but it’s well worth it. You can stream it all day for free though. A dope album for sure. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape downloads. Tracklist and downloads below. Get Right…

DJ Noodles: Drake – Ready To Fly

September 23, 2009

This tape reminds me of some of the classic Dirty Harry blend tapes. On this one, Dj Noodles takes Drake acapellas as well as some others (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, UGK, Trey Songz, John Legend) and laces them over some instrumentals that work well. If you’re a Drake fan, and I know there are a few out there, then this is a dope download. He sold 73,000 records his first week of “So Far Gone” which he also gave away for free. Nuts. Nice work on this one Noodles, but the DatPiff co-sign…Ehhh. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape downloads. Tracklist and downloads below. Get Right…

Dj Drama & Cory Gunz – Heir To The Throne

September 22, 2009

The long awaited Cory Gunz ‘Gangsta Grillz’ mixtape finally gets put out. The tape is hosted by Drama and Dj Head Debaise. Cory Gunz has been hard at work in the studio lately, working on this tape, as well as new music for his studio effort. The young Bronx artist, son of Peter Gunz from this group, has been catching a lot of good press this year with his unique flow and rhyme scheme. Cory Gunz has talent and I can say I enjoyed the tape. Featuring full tracks as well as some short freestyles and remixes and what not. A solid tape. I’ll post some standout tracks for this one. Maino – Unstoppable

September 21, 2009

New tape from Maino hosted by Dj Whoo Kid and Dj Scream. I have been debating on whether to post this tape up or not. I know Maino has a bunch of fans that would like to hear what he is working on, so that sort of swayed my decision to post. But, if I went with my gut, I probably wouldn’t post it. There are a few tracks on here, but to me Maino is getting tired. I feel like everything is about how he was locked up for so long and how he’s so happy now and how he’s so tough and repping Brooklyn so hard and what not. I don’t know, I think Maino needs to turn up the substance level in his music. For a single here and there though, he’s good for that. The tape also has featuring spots from Lloyd Banks, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy and others. I posted up some standout tracks so you don’t have to download the whole tape if you don’t want to. Carter – Legal Trappin

September 17, 2009

I don’t know that much about this new artist, Carter. I do know that he’s friends with Dom Kennedy, whom we have been supporting for a little bit now and that his music is spreading fast. Great music spreads naturally and Carter may just have that. My boy @mikeslim put me on (there’s your credit) to this tape and illroots had it first. The artwork is dope, but the music is better. This is his second mixtape to be released. We’ll post up his first tape if we get some positive feedback off of this one, which I’m pretty sure we will. Check it out. New artist out of Texas. Drake – Successful Instrumentals

September 16, 2009

Not really quite clear on who released this tape, but it got sent over to me today and I kinda enjoyed it. It’s an instrumental tape featuring most of the “So Far Gone” Drake tracks, but also some other Drake instrumentals. The audio quality is good and there’s no dj’s talking over the beats, which is always good. Some of the tracks also feature Drake on the hook, but the verse parts are still instrumental. Pretty cool, if you want to make a remix or something. I’m always a fan of a well done instrumental mixtape. So whoever put this one together, nice work. Always a free mixtape download over here. J.Period and K’Naan have teamed up to release a 3 part mixtape series paying special tribute to 3 classic artists of our time: Bob Marley, Fela Kuti & Bob Dylan. Willie The Kid – The Fly

September 9, 2009

New mixtape from Willie The Kid hosted by Dj Drama and Dj Head Debiase. An official Gangsta Grillz production and in my opinion, Willie The Kid’s best work to date. Wile The Kid, to me, has always been an artist that I knew about but I never really seeked his music out to listen to. But, this tape proves his talent and gets the Get Right Music stamp of approval for sure. Rhyming over some well known instrumentals as well as mixing in some exclusive songs from WTK.
