Throwback: Dj Clue – Best of Jay-Z (2003)
June 30, 2009
There’s been a real slow down in quality mixtapes the past few days. Since nothing has come out too impressive, here’s a throwback to hold everyone over. This one was put out by Dj Clue in 2003 and was a double disc “Best Of” Jay-Z tape. Featuring 36 of Jay-Z’s best tracks according to Clue. I couldn’t find the original cover, so if someone else does, let me know so I can replace this photo. New mixtapes will be out tomorrow. Always a free mixtape download over here. Dj Teddy King & Mondee – The Ghostface Show
June 26, 2009
Dj Teddy King and Mondee recorded this Ghostface mix on November 20th last year on Boundless Radio in NYC. The mix was so dope that they decided to release it as a mixtape for the masses to download. You may remember Teddy King from his popular Nas mix, featuring ultra rare Nas tracks. This mixtape features 45 minutes of Teddy King spinning classic Ghostface material and then another hour or so of Mondee spinning a dope classic hip hop mix. Overall the mix is about 2 hours long and worth it. Definitely a must download in my opinion. Also, be sure to check out Boundless NY for dope clothing and more dope mixes. From D. Julien:
Sad day/week in music with the passing of Michael Jackson, however as an artist I have to move on and worry about my future and try to build my brand like the king of pop did. With that being said, above is my new joint – the second joint released off my new project titled ‘Live, Love, Learn” which drops this Wednesday July 1st. The new joint is titled “Baby It’s Over” and it’s basically about a significant other that can’t let go. I’m sure you can relate lol. Hit me with your personal thoughts if you can as well.
Dj Jaycee Presents Michael Jackson – The Soulful Years
June 25, 2009
In respect for the loss of one of the greatest artists of our time, here is one of the best Michael Jackson mixtapes done to date. Dj Jaycee put the mix together featuring many of MJ’s classic songs that are classified under his “Soulful” era. The mixtape is one long MP3 file, but it doesn’t matter with a great mix like this. R.I.P. Michael Jackson. Enjoy his music and remember.
Carmine – eightEATeight
June 25, 2009
New artist, Carmine, released a new mixtape recently title eightEATeight. Put out with the help of Fresh Out Music and Danny La Villegas. Carmine is coming out of Texas, although the only Carmine’s I know are outta Staten Island. But, this kid has serious talent and we over here at Get Right Music co-sign him. I think he is on the right path and this mixtape proves that fully. Download it now and check the kid out. Hit up his MySpace page to hear some of the tracks off the tape if you want. And follow him on Twitter also here. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape downloads. Tracklist and downoads below. Get Right…
Dj L-Gee: Nobi & D.O.E. – If Not, Why Not
June 23, 2009
I leaked a track off of this tape last week with Nobi, D.O.E. and Joell Ortiz. Now, here is the whole mixtape. Hosted by Dj L-Gee, the tape features music from the 2 Queens, NY artists. Nobi (Gritty Lyf Music) and D.O.E. (On Timbalands label) have recorded a whole bunch of tracks together and these are some of the standout tracks that made the mixtape. The majority of people on this site know who Nobi is and most people should know D.O.E. from his verse on the Timbaland produced Keri Hilson hit “The Way I Are.” Check out the mixtape. De La Soul – Stakes Is High Era Rarities (1996-1998)
June 23, 2009
The T.R.O.Y. Blog just released this compilation of De La Soul rarities. Pretty effing dope if you ask me. There are 2 mixtapes available to download that feature remixes, blends and hard to find (probably slept on) De La Soul cuts. The T.R.O.Y. Blog made Vibe’s Top 50 hip hop blog site’s along with Get Right Music. For these tapes, I am going to point you in the direction of his blog because he has the audio streams up of some of the tracks and his blog is dope like ours. B.o.B – B.o.B Vs. Bobby Ray (Dj Free Version)
June 22, 2009
B.o.B. has been generating a buzz lately with this mixtape release. His previous mixtapes have been very successful, search the site to download those. Green Lantern and Don Cannon host this tape, although the download here at GRM is DJ FREE, I figured you all would enjoy it that way better. Featuring new music from the southern newcomer, who is somewhat of an all-round artist, known for producing, singing, rapping, writing, playing guitar and more. The mixtape has featuring spots from T.I., Mickey Factz, Kanye West, OJ Da Juiceman, Asher Roth and more. The majority of the production on the tape is done by B.o.B. as well. Check it out. Dope Boy – Killa Cali Vol.1

Dope Boy out of California recently sent me over his new mixtape hosted by Dj Haze and Nu Jerzy Devil. Wale – Back To The Feature
June 19, 2009
Here it is, finally. The long awaited mixtape from Wale and 9th Wonder. Some may consider this mixtape the ‘Detox” of mixtapes, because for a minute it seemed as though it was never going to see the light of day. Wale though premiered it himself on his Twitter page. The mixtape is dope, exactly what you would expect from this rising star. I know that the new cover art is different from this one, but I like this artwork better, this is the older version. Wale ft. Big Sean & Mike Posner – “Wonder Why”
June 18, 2009
So, Wale’s new mixtape should be out tomorrow, according to him. Here’s a new track produced by 9th Wonder featuring Big Sean and Mike Posner. These are three of some of my favorite artists out right now. This track, I’m told, isn’t on Wale’s new mixtape. Always a free download over here. Get Right…

Ace Hood – Final Warning
June 16, 2009
Ace Hood is in promotion for his upcoming album “Ruthless” to be released on June 30th. The mixtape is hosted by Dj Dirtdawg. Honestly, I have never been a big fan of Ace Hood, but that’s because he was always with Dj Khaled, who I’m not a fan of at all. So, I put that beside me and decided to give Ace Hood a real listen and I think he has something there. On his new mixtape he proves that by showcasing songs to be featured on his upcoming album as well as other b-side cuts and unreleased tracks. Featuring verses from artists like T-Pain, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Rick Ross and more. Always a free mixtape download here. Tracklist and downloads below. Get Right…
50 Cent – War Angel LP
June 16, 2009
This is the first tape in 50’s recently announced summer mixtape releases. He says that this one is more of an LP than a mixtape. Featuring 10 tracks with 50 going in over instrumentals and leaning back into the 90’s era of hip hop. 50 pushed his album back until September, so this summer is going to be filled with a few more of these LP/mixtapes from Curtis. According to 50, he is going to shoot a video for each one of the tracks on the LP. He says he wants to bring hip hop back, away from the watered down music of today. Mistah F.A.B. – The Realest Sh*! I Never Wrote Pt.2
June 15, 2009
The term “freestyle” gets thrown around way too lightly. People say they are freestyling a whole lot, when in reality they are just reciting previously written verses that have been memorized. True freestyling is straight off the top, brand new, whatever comes to your mind first. On this mixtape, hosted by Dj’s Ill Will, Rockstar & Tito Bell, Mistah F.A.B. showcases his lyrical ability to truly freestyle. You can sort of hear it in the flow and you know that it is a raw freestyle. That is what makes this tape so impressive. It’s part 2 in his freestyle compilation mixtape series. Check it out. J.Cole – The Warm Up
June 15, 2009
Running on the buzz of being the Roc Nation’s first signee, J.Cole drops his new mixtape “The Warm Up.” I actually first began to really listen to J.Cole after I saw him perform. I believe that these days, you can be the nicest out, but if you can’t perform and entertain then you’re not going anywhere special. J.Cole can though, and that’s why he is someone that you should be paying attention to. The new tape features Cole rhyming over known beats, classic beats and new tracks. He’s a talented artist and if you haven’t given him a chance yet, then this is a good download to do that with. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape downloads. Ta’East – “Crooks & Castles”
June 10, 2009
Ta’East, up and coming artist out of southern California, has an “unofficial” Crooks & Castles track produced by Cairo. Ta’East has a fresh sound and I felt that he deserves a feature on the site. He gets the Get Right Music stamp of approval. Let me know what you all think. Props to my good friends and family over at the best Streetwear store on the net and in San Diego, The Fizix, for putting me on to Ta’East. Always a free download here. Get Right…

Dustin Prestige – Houston Presto Vol.1
June 8, 2009
Props to Rap Radar for this one. I never heard of Dustin until today, but I gave the a true listen today. Normally, I’m not a fan huge fan of the south too too much. Nothing against the south, it’s just not really my style. You can probably tell by the mixtapes that get posted on here. But, Dustin has a new and very unique and fresh sound. I can’t really describe it, but the music sounds simple and very very listenable. I put it on earlier and just let it play. Typically, I would have skipped through a few tracks, but I haven’t done that on this tape. A truly good tape or album, in my opinion, is when you put it on and then you suddenly find yourself almost done with it and you didn’t really notice that you listened to that much of it. That’s what this mixtape did for me. Check out the tape from Dustin Prestige. If any Houston people on the site have some more info on him, please feel free to leave it in the comments. Thanks.
