Dom Kennedy – Future Street / Drug Sounds
May 7, 2009
I’ve never really heard too much from Dom Kennedy, but my man Mike Slim from The Fizix (Probably the best streetwear site online and in San Diego) told me about his tape and said I should check it out. So I did, naturally. The tape is dope. I’m shocked that I overlooked him this far. Coming out of California, Dom has a very refreshing flow and style. The beats are very laid back as well and work very well with Dom’s flow. The Hundreds (Clothing Brand) also co-signed this tape, which says a lot. Here is what has been said about the mixtape:
With the co-sign of the streetwear giant, The Hundreds, Dom Kennedy’s “FutureStreet/DrugSounds” is set to make an impact sonically throughout the music realm. With production from Chuck Inglish (of the Cool Kids), J Skillz, L.A.U.S.D, Brandun DeShay, Drew Byrd, etc., “FutureStreet/DrugSounds” is an album that is definitely worth listening to. You can expect a wide-range of diverse subject matters on the songs displayed on FS/DS. At such an early point in Dom Kennedy’s career, “FutureStreet/DrugSounds” is an excellent introduction to most and a perfect reminder to others that Dom Kennedy is a name to definitely be remembered and recognized.
I agree with the fact that Dom Kennedy will be a name to remember for sure. Check it out. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape downloads. Tracklist and downloads below. Get Right…
