Doctor Illingsworth from Detroit CYDI just sent us over this mixtape. The tape is hosted at Bandcamp, which is a great platform for promoting your mixtapes. The Rhyming Dictionary is an album that combines two incredible producers-Erik L from Sweden and Illingsworth from Detroit-with the lyrical stylings of the rap group Detroit CYDI (Can You Dig It?!). Comprised of Illingsworth, Rufio Jones and Sean Uppercut; Detroit CYDI created an incredibly uniquemini LP that music lovers of all kinds will enjoy. This 10 track album (5 tracks per producer) features the incomparable talents of Arka from Supersci,Notion, Scoop SOS, Stray and Stryfe.
The Rhyming Dictionary is aptly named. What started as a joke, after coming into possession of The New American Comprehensive Rhyming Dictionary by Sue Young, became something deeper. Detroit CYDI was inspired by someone in order to start rapping. That person unwittingly gave each member the blueprints to begin constructing rhymes. The Rhyming Dictionary is sure to do the same. Not only will listeners be entertained by the music they have been clamoring for, but potential rappers get the necessary tools to make good music.
