September 19, 2008

I actualy haven’t gotten a chance to listen to this yet (I’m walking out the door as I type for the night), but this is an extremely hyped mixtape from Santana and a lot of people have been requesting it. Released today the mixtape is sort of an introduction to Juelz’s side project, Skull Gang. Santana has been keeping up and staying in the news so hopefully he can keep making good music. J-Love & The GZA – Wordplay Master

September 18, 2008

So, if you have been on this site for a while now, you probably know that I’m not the biggest J-Love fan. For some reason, I just don’t like the guy, but I can’t let personal issues hinder posting a good mixtape. J-Love truly shines when putting out mixtapes like this. Sort of “best of” compilations from the classic artists rom the 90’s. The GZA is in promotion for his newly released studio album “Pro Tools.” This mixtape though features mainly the classic GZA that I love, from the Wu-Tang era. This mixtape brings back memories of my youth. It’s a good download just for that, if anything. Nice work on this one J-Love. Always a free mixtape download over here. Mick Boogie & Fashawn – One Shot One Kill

September 18, 2008

So, apparantly the new thing in mixtapes is to get the streetwear brands to sponsor. Orisue decides to get involved after 10Deep and Lemar & Dauley have already done so.  Sponsoring the newest mixtape from West Coast artist Fashawn.  Mick Boogie and Terry Urban provide the mix, and it features new tracks from the new artist. With featuring spots from Planet Asia and Evidence, along with a whole bunch of Hecktik remixes, this mixtape is tight. Fashawn is definitely one of those artists to listen out for. If you haven’t heard any of his music this is a great mixtape to get familiar. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtapes. Tracklist and downloads after the jump. Christian Rich – The Decay Mixtape

September 17, 2008

So, I have never heard of these guys before, but the Modi from DCtoBC just sent this over to me and after a quick listen I decided that this mixtape was definitely worth the post on the site. It’s a little out of the box, but that’s what makes it fresh and entertaining. I’ll embed the mixtape in the post so you can give it a listen before downloading, but it is worth the download. The mixtape is 13 tracks and is sponsored by the streetwear clothing label Lemar and Dauley. Here’s what DCtoBC had to say:

“If you haven’t heard about these guys (we’ve featured them before), let me catch you up to speed. the nigerian-born, chicago-bred twins have been making power moves behind the scenes for a minute now, producing hits for industry juggernauts like the clipse and lil kim. hungry for more, the eclectic duo decided to shift focus on their own careers.

but wait a second . this isn’t your average hip-hop mixtape that every one and their grandmothers put out. i said the young guys were eclectic , and i meant it. think of a slight electro vibe with a dash of soul, three shots of hip-hop, a sprinkle of pop, and a hefty scoop of some moon powder or something of that potency. my point is, the sound is out of this world.

the mixtape concept is pretty straight forward. it’s called i found my favorite beats and rhymed to them while watching “coming to america” and frankly, it’s pretty damn awesome. with production contributions ranging from mf doom to pharrell to christian rich themselves.”

Dj Deez & Wiz Khalifa – Star Power

September 17, 2008

Wiz Khalifa has been making some serious buzz lately, and here is his latest mixtape that a lot of people have been requesting. It dropped last night, so I’m a few hours late. I love the throwback NES artwork though. I had to give it the full listen, before posting it up on the site. The mixtape is dope and Khalifa is definitely on the come up and could be next on the scene. Dj Deez puts it all together really well. Always a free mixtape download over here. Dj Skee & Charles Hamilton – And Then They Played Dilla

September 16, 2008

Charles Hamilton drops the next mixtape in his “Hamiltization Process” series. This latest, mixed by Dj Skee, features 7 new tracks from the Harlem native over J Dilla beats, and then the 7 instrumentals of the songs. A cool concept. Listening to Dilla beats is always a treat and sort of puts me in a zone, especially if I’m already a little zooted. Charles Hamilton is still steady on his grind. You can’t fail if you don’t quit Charles. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape. Tracklist and downloads below. Get Right…

Royce Da 5′9″ – The Bar Exam 2 (Mixed by Green Lantern)

September 16, 2008

This mixtape has been getting a lot of hype since word of it’s release. I’ve been getting emails the past few months asking me to post this up. Well, here it is. Released last night for the masses, the new mixtape from the Detroit star mixed by Dj Green Lantern. Royce has had a very eventful career, I would say, since his beginnings with Eminem and then his drama with D12 and now his recent beef with Joe Budden. This new mixtape is the sequel to his highly awarded mixtape “The Bar Exam” (Search the site). Number 2 features 22 tracks from Royce with featuring spots from Trick Trick, Canibus, Kid Vishis and more. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtapes. Jadakiss – Audio Heroin

September 14, 2008

So, I’m guessing Jada put this tape out himself. Basically it’s 29 tracks featuring all new Jadakiss freestyles, tracks and a bunch of snippets that are probably from his upcoming studio album “Kiss My Ass.” It’s official now that Jada is doing business with Rocafella and Jay-Z, so we’ll see what happens out of that partnership. Jadakiss is New York City, in my opinion, and has always kept it real with his image and character. A Jada mixtape is always a good download. Always a free mixtape download at Get Right Music. Hevehitta & Dj Unexpected: Lloyd Banks “Blue Magic”

September 14, 2008

So, Banks, The Punchline King, has been dropping freestyles left and right across the internet for a month or so. He probably released around 15, but the mixtape has 41 tracks on it, so there is still a lot that didn’t get released. Lloyd Banks is just keeping his name out there, which is a good thing. He doesn’t have an album dropping soon, but keeping his name out there is good for the image. 50’s “Before I Self Destruct” album is the main G-Unit push right now until Christmas. On this new tape, put together by Hevehitta and Unexpected, Banks has about 39 tracks of freestyles, verses and remixes. Just what you would expect from a Lloyd Banks mixtape.
