Dj Khaled: Check Your Ego

August 31, 2008

After seeing the video blog from Dj Khaled the other day, I was compelled to write something about it. I consider myself somewhat of a hip-hop blogger/writer, so when Khaled said he was exposing all the “typers” I got a little offended. Even though he really didn’t expose anything. He didn’t really make much sense.

First off, for your financial sake Khaled, I hope you have a good savings plan. If I was a betting man, I would put my money on your cash flow stopping a lot sooner than your ego keeps whispering to you.

Dear Khaled’s ego, please take note and cut back on the hype and over cockiness. Tone yourself down ego, please for our listening pleasure. Sincerely yours, Hip-Hop.

J-Love & Joell Ortiz – Who’s Nice

August 31, 2008

If you have been a regular on this site then you may know that I am not a fan of J-Love that much. Mainly for two reasons; one, he started to rap (not well) and sprinkle his own tracks throughout some of his previous mixtapes and two, for a track he made called “Blogs Are For Homos.” But, to J-Love’s credit, his specialty is making mixtapes that feature one artist and consist of a sort of “best of” compilation. He has made some classic mixtapes, do a search and you’ll see. Anyway, I am a Joell Ortiz fan and this here is a good mixtape featuring all of the latest and best music Joell has dropped. Check it out. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape. Tracklist and downloads after the jump. Get Right…

Dj Diggz, Rated R & Thisis50.com – Southside State of Mind

August 30, 2008

If you haven’t been aware, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo have been dropping freestyle after freestyle on the net. Banks much more than Yayo. This new tape here is a compilation of the latest tracks from the two G-Unit members. I think there is an official Lloyd Banks mixtape dropping soon as well as an official Yayo. This one though is sponsored by Thisis50 so it is pretty official. It’s a big download with 32 tracks from the pair and Ali Vegas even got a track on it, not sure what that’s about, we’ll see. Diggz & Rated R always do their thing. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape. Tracklist and downloads after the jump. Get Right…

Travis Barker & Dj AM – Fix Your Face Mixtape

August 28, 2008

Travis Barker and Dj AM have been touring the country for a little while now, I never got around to seeing the shows but I heard they were dope. Dj AM cuts it up and spins classic tracks and beats while Barker plays the drums over the mixing. A really cool concept. This is the mixtape, which features 15 tracks from some of the shows. A great mixtape. The audio quality is high, professionally recorded at the shows. Barker is in promo for his upcoming studio album featuring a whole bunch of rap artists. Should be cool. Superstar J & Busta Rhymes – “I’ve Already Outshined Your Favorite Rapper Pt.2″

August 26, 2008

Superstar J & Busta Rhymes team up for the second installment in the “I’ve Already Outshined Your Favorite Rapper” mixtape series. Busta is still in promotion for his upcoming studio album. I feel like he definitely should have released the album a few weeks ago after he had a little buzz from “I Got Bass,” “Don’t Touch Me” and “We Made It ft Linkin Park.” But, that’s up to the label, not Busta. I just hope his window of sales didn’t close a little. The mixtape here though features a whole bunch of new tracks from Busta with featuring spots from Reek Da Villain, Spliff Star & The Game. The mixtape is dope and definitely worth the download for those Busta Bus fans. Always a free mixtape download over here. Home of the free hip hop mixtape download.
