"As a result of recent pressure from the Recording Industry Association of America brought to bear against various companies involved in the distribution of physical mix tapes, GetRightMusic.com has, on the advice of its legal counsel, decided to temporarily discontinue the availability of free downloads of promotional mix tapes. Although we are still of the opinion that the mix tapes we have made available in digital form are for promotional use, and should be made available for free, the legal landscape has become uncertain at this time, so we are taking this proactive step. We are just a small company with neither the resources nor the desire to become embroiled in legal proceedings with anyone, much less with the RIAA..
For the immediate future, we will continue to provide editorial information and reviews of hiphop music CDs and mix tapes as they are released. We will continue to explore ways to make the digital files of mixtapes available, while doing so with the complete approval of their creators and any copyright holders involved. We apologize for this unfortunate development, but please stay tuned to GetRightMusic.com for additional developments."

What the RIAA doesn't realize is that mixtapes promote the artists they are seeking to protect. GetRightMusic has put me onto a bunch of stuff I woulda missed and I hope you guys come back.

i feel the same way, when i found about this website i got 2 happy and i put all my friends onto it 2.. there are plenty of artists i can name that wuld have been overlooked by me n others if it wuznt 4 this site. Even tho we wont be able to download mixtapes, i'll still come 2 this site evryday, cuz itz 1 of my favorites, i juz hope 1 day it'll be bak 2 how it wuz...

Good luck with adjusting the site. The RIAA is fighting a losing battle and is attacking the problem in the places. They should be concerned with retail album bootlegging, stopping the distribution of promotional materials isn't going to save the pathetic album sales on the billboards...

The RIAA are a bunch of dumbasses, but reading your comments, GetRight, it seems you know where to go, let's just hope those other servers you're uploading the mixtapes to are good and reliable. But i'm gonna miss D/Ling the music right from your server.
