Mixtape: J.Cole “The Blow Up”
J.Cole really needs to start releasing some new music. Luckily the good folks at Hip Hop DX put together a little mixtape/compilation of some of the newer tracks that Cole’s released since his last mixtape “The Warm Up.” J. Cole’s debut album is definitely in my top 5 most anticipated releases for 2010. I’m just hoping he doesn’t get shelved. A lot of people would think that him getting shelved could never ever happen, but anything can happen with these labels. Never say never. For the meantime, while we wait on J.Cole, enjoy this mixtape, “The Blow Up.” If you haven’t download “The Warm Up” yet, you must and you can right here. Mixtape: Dj Green Lantern & Jay-Z – Creative Control
Dj Green Lantern & Jay-Z come together for an “official” mixtape. In terms of time the material on here isn’t new, but as far as we are concerned it’s a dope compilation of rare remixes and unreleased Jay-Z material. Definitely something to add to the collection. Green Lantern explains more about it in detail below. Spotted at Rap Radar first. Tracklist, stream and downloads after the jump. Get Right…
Dnt know if u saw yet but Team Invasion compiled all the shit I’ve done with/for/including Hov for the last few years and calling it Creative Control.. A name I came up with for a series where I’m just working with acapellas and have full Creative Control (nothing at all to do with Dame Dash’s company of the same name)
.. Anyways its pretty much a “best-of” and defntly NOT anything like Presidential Invasion was supposed to be.. Dope nonetheless tho … There , long enough email? #okayBye
Mixtape: Chiddy Bang – Air Swell (A Mini Mixtape)
Typically this space on GetRightMusic.com is reserved for major mixtape releases. But, every now and then we post up a tape that we feel deserves the spotlight and the promotion. We recently stumbled upon Chiddy Bang while scouring the internet for new music and mixtape releases that are creating a buzz. This “mini-mixtape” was released a couple months ago, so pardon the lateness if you already have this tape or know of it. After giving this tape a listen, we think that Chiddy Bang are on the right direction in terms of creating music and pushing limits of creativity. The production handled by Xaphoon Jones (1/2 of the group), is somewhere between, hip hop, rock, electronica and dubstep. The other member of the Philly based duo is the mc, who goes by the name of Chiddy. Get it. You can find more info about Chiddy Bang on their Twitter and Facebook pages. I still think that Chiddy Bang have a little bit of maturing to do as far as their music is concerned, but I have no doubt that if they keep on their grind good things will arise from their talent and creativity. Check out the mixtape and let us know what you think. It’s only 7 tracks short. Tracklist, stream and downloads after the jump. Get Right…

Mixtape: BD – Winning Me
Fresh for the summer, BD releases his new mixtape “Winning Me.” For those who may not know about BD, he is an extremely talented all-round artist coming out of New York City. I personally have watched him grind and grow as an artist throughout the years I have known him. He got his first real major start a couple years ago with a single produced by the legendary Scott Storch. He then made his way to signing a major deal with LL Cool J on his imprint record label. Now, back on the grind, after parting ways with his former label, BD is back on his grizzly. With a major single release coming this summer, BD is definitely an artist to look out for. His sound is unique and although he leans a little towards pop, his overall style and music is very eclectic. Check it out and spread the word about BD. Also, check the video trailer from the upcoming film about his life as an artist in NYC. Tracklist, stream and downloads below. Get Right…
Mixtape: Cee-Lo Green – Stray Bullets
This mixtape kinda kicks ass. Dj Greg Street compiled this one (completely dj drop free!) featuring new and unreleased music from the southern super creative singer, Cee-Lo Green. Cee-Lo is currently in promotion for his upcoming studio album “Lady Killer.” On Smash premiered this one. Here’s what they had to say about the project: “Signatured and Sung the Shit Out Of by Cee Lo Green, aka Sugar Lo Leonard, aka Lothar of the Ill People, aka Mr. Lo Jangles, aka Lo Lucas (African American Gangster), aka Locifer, etc.etc… Executive Produced by “The Mild Mannered, But Murderous” Mike Caren. Recorded and Mixed by Graham Marsh. Mastered by John Horesco IV. Assisted by Juliette Amoroso, Anthony Kronfle & Jesse Johnstone.” Check it out. I’m pretty sure you will not be disappointed. Mixtape: The Cool Kids – Tacklebox
Still hard at work on their studio album, The Cool Kids decided to link up with Los Angeles’ LA Leakers to drop a new mixtape titled “Tacklebox.” Their previous mixtape with Don Cannon “Gone Fishin” was more then dope and this new tape doesn’t fall short of that one. If you missed that one, you can grab it here. The new tape features guest production by Ski Beats and Productionix, but the main production is handled in house by Chuck Inglish. Check it out, you will not be dissappointed. Tracklist, stream and downloads after the jump. Get Right…
Mixtape: T.I. – F*ck A Mixtape
In promotion for his upcoming album “Uncaged King,” T.I. links up with Dj Drama and Dj MLK for an official Gangsta Grillz mixtape. Featuring all new music from the fresh out of prison self proclaimed king of the south. With production from Timbaland, Dj Toomp, Swizz Beats, Jim Jonsin, and No I.D. Also, featuring guest spots from Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Keri Hilson, Killer Mike and Jamie Foxx. T.I. is back on his grind and from what it seems, he isn’t stopping anytime soon. Tracklist, stream and downloads after the jump. Get Right…
Mixtape: Rick Ross – The Albert Anastasia EP
Rick Ross understands the power of free music. In promotion for his upcoming album “Teflon Don,” Ross compiles a free EP/Mixtape for everyone to enjoy. This is also the official sort of project that Diddy has had a creative hand in, now that he is Rawse’s manager. Not sure how much longer we will be calling him Rick Ross though, since the real Rick Ross is suing him for infringement. Anyhow, this new mixtape features all new music from the bawse. No annoying dj’s ruining the music on this one either. With featuring spots from Styles P, Yo Gotti, Ne-Yo, John Legend, Kool G Rap and more. The tape is a definite download in my opinion. Rick Ross grows more and more everyday as a talented artist and someone to really watch out for in the future. Look out for the Teflon Don. Tracklist, stream and downloads after the jump. Get Right…
Mixtape: Young Chris – The Network 2
Young Chris is back again with Don Cannon for another “Network” mixtape. This one features 16 tracks from the Young Gunna. What happened to Neef? Anyway, Young Chris has skills, I’ve always been a fan and he is definitely on his grind. The tape has a bunch of dope tracks on it. You can listen to the whole tape after the jump before you download it. Don Cannon doesn’t really ruin this tape either. He stays off the mic a little bit, which is a good thing. There’s features from Lil Wayne, Bobby Valentino, Memphis Bleek and J.Cole on here as well. Also, some good production from Sean C & LV, Sha Money XL, Dame Grease and J.Cole. Look out for Young Chris’s EP coming soon. If you missed the first Network tape, grab it here. Check it out. Always a free mixtape download here. Tracklist, stream and downloads after the jump. Props to the Radar. Get Right…
Mixtape: Peter Rosenberg & Cypress Hill – The Uprising Mixtape
Peter Rosenberg told us this tape was in the works, and now here it is. Rosenberg is NYC radio, Hot 97’s, resident morning show dj along with Cypha Sounds. Rosenberg is the “Ben Stein” of hip hop. He has a wide range of knowledge of the art-form and his opinions are well respected here at GRM. This tape is a tribute to one of the greatest groups in hip hop, Cypress Hill. Featuring some remixes, some classic material and some cover tracks from artists like Jim Jones, Asher Roth, Homeboy Sandman, Noreaga, The Lox and more. A dope mixtape highlighting great music from the great stoned west coast rhymesayers. Always a free mixtape download here. Tracklist, stream and downloads after the jump. Get Right…
